One of my favourite things in the Paradime Version 6 that we released last week is how the team has brought 𝗷𝗼𝗯-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 in a single place.

What is Paradime Bolt?

Paradime Bolt is the orchestration engine that ships within the Paradime platform.

Initially built as a competitor to dbt jobs scheduling in dbt Cloud, you can use Bolt to run:

• dbt™ jobs

• Python jobs

• CI or jobs for testing your dbt™ pipelines

• Agent loops for long running background agents

With Paradime Bolt, you get everything that dbt Cloud™ offers and a lot more - executing schedules other than dbt™ and now building and running long-running agent loops.

Execution Insights

With the current Paradime Version we have release the following insight cards for a schedule run as follows.

1. Pipeline DAG View

The pipeline DAG view shows you which parts of your schedules have run and what has failed for any given Paradime Bolt run.

B. Executed Nodes

The executed nodes view shows you which models have been executed in our pipeline. This is particularly important when you are running state-aware orchestration

C. Timeline View

We've always had the timeline view, but we have redesigned it, with advanced pan and zoom controls, filters and full screen. The timeline view shows you which models are taking the longest and where are the opportunities to improve.

Conclusion

Running a pipeline is sometimes not enough.
Figuring out what to fix quickly is more important.
Generic orchestrators don't have that - they do everything poorly.
